Bespoke Retro Oak study desk & overhanging shelf - custom made for a student in Cape Town
As times are changing rapidly, students are being forced to study from home - students around the world are having to upgrade their home work spaces to make them promote efficiency and comfort. This Retro Rebel Desk was made for a student in Cape Town who needed an upgrade in her space. We wanted to help her make organizing her school stuff as easy as possible, whilst also keeping it sleek and stylish; so we knew that she needed a timeless piece that has ample space for storage. We did this by designing a desk from Solid Grade A Oak and matte black Tubular Metal, and made sure to add multiple drawers (two of which lock).
This gorgeous Rebel Retro desk was inspired by 1970’s style office furniture - down to the pull out coffee rests and retro handles. We thought that the coffee rests could definitely come in handy as a place for her to rest her laptop, notes or phone when she didn't have enough room on the desk top, or as a place for her to put a cup of tea.
We also made her a matching shelf to keep all of her books and cute collected pieces.
